Let's see how much this is going to hurt fuel economy!

The 30 mile drive home from work with the new rims was a terrible trip and MPGs but the first half of the drive was through rain and the second half was through full on storm with crazy winds and rain just dumping. So no good indicator.

Anyhow, rims are 15X7 (offset+40mm) called effect wheels. Tires are 195/50-15 kumho (be careful how you pronounce that) Ecsta.
Just wanted to make the car look less goofy for a change.

Previously ordered 4 valve stems from mitsu so I can swap the TPMSs over to the new wheels. That way I don't have a yellow light in my face on the cluster. All good sofar.

The car feels a lot more sturdy for lack of a better word.

They look great! I've been thinking about going to a white rim too when I upgrade. I think it would really show contrast against the black color of the car.

Very nice wheels!!!!! Let us know if it effects the MPGs . I'm sure you noticed. A big difference in the way it handled when you drove it home!

Well, drove to work this morning and the rolling resistance with these tires on is horrible compared to the factory wheels.
On a saturday morning the drive to work with light traffic I always get the mpg display into the high seventies, occasionally into the eighties. With these tires this morning i struggled to brake into the sixties! That sucks big time.
They look great but I'm not sure I can put up with the mpg hit.

BTW diameter is only about a half inch taller than stock.

There are some LRR options in 185/55R15 size, and more so in 185/60R15.
Yoko Avid Ascend, B-stone Ecopia EP422, etc

I am thinking RT43 in 185/60R14 when time comes

not exactly what I wanted to hear, but very good information. I figured this type of combination would have more rolling resistance. I want some aluminum wheels, but NOT at the cost if mileage. Damn.

3dplane,,, question ? Where your original wheels 14 inch? And you went with 15inch? Because my new wheels that are a little bit wider and taller then the Steel wheels didn't affect my MPGs at all. Of course I've still got the original tires still on there.

Yes original wheels are 14 inch. If you retained the same tires that were on it,that explains why you had no difference in MPGs.

Correction! The new rims are 15X6.5 and not 7 wide like I said above. Still a lot wider than stock wich is 4 inch if I'm not mistaken.

And a confirmation of MPGs. On the way home from work under ideal conditions for a high seventies display I again barely broke sixties. Looking into the suggested tires...
