    Ford Ecoboost sad news

    I really like the ecoboost turbo 1.0, the other ones Ford has are cool too but I really only care about the 1.0.

    This is sad news from a Ford Tech, basically they are building up a lot of carbon on the head/valves and causing mis fires when cold/drivability issues

    Thats why the Mirage doesn't use direct injection

    Interesting video, not surprising. Good info about turbo damage from using induction cleaners like Seafoam.

    Pretty much all of the direct inject engines are having the same issue with build up on the intake valves. VW is I know for sure.
    Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

    Very true. Some higher-end Audis from a few years ago have it REALLY bad. Like, 'pulling the head off every 25k to clean carbon' bad.

    That's so terrible, I guess me being out of the automotive loop has caused me to not be informed about this. The Nissan dual injector setup seems to be a much better option for mitsubishi!

    So if the procedure is "replace the cylinder head" and they do it under warranty, what do you do if your vehicle is out of warranty? What do those heads cost? How often do they go south? Seems like my ratty 17mpg grand Cherokee will save me lots of money over trying to keep a nearly new f150 going.

    I hear ya, some serious long term operation cost issues associated with this.

    Remove intake manifold make sure both valves are closed, connect walnut hull blaster to induction port, clean and repeat until all cylinders are done.
