    P0302 #2 cylinder misfire

I have the ECU fault light on. When I hook up my code reader, I get P0302 #2 cylinder misfire. I swapped the coil with #3 and reset the code, to see if it would swap cylinders. A week later, I get the same code for cylinder #2 again, so I think I can rule out the coil.

Has anyone had this code? Did you take it to the dealer and/or get it fixed? What turned out to be the result?

    How about the spark plug?

Looked ok. No deposits or crud. Might pop a new set in, just to be sure.

What about gasoline? I had gotten a bad batch of fuel one time that had caused a multitude of misfires.

No, the fuel is fine, it's an intermittent fault. Disappears after 3 drive cycles, and comes back later for a short period of time. I know it's not critical, but I would like to solve the issue.

Wonky injector or coil? I doubt it is anything serious, but I'd want it fixed as well. Let us know what you come up with.

swap coil and spark plug from #1 to #2, I doubt its a spark plug seeing these come with NGK (the best). Possible coil/injector or other malfunction. Doing this plug/coil swap will allow you to rule out the plug and coil as the cause.

Already swapped the coil, cleaned the insulators and checked for damage. I am getting some plugs today (even though they all looked fine).

    So, was it a plug?

    defective? micro-crack, needed re-gap?
