I had this 2 times with my GLS CVT. But this happened when I kicked the brakes while starting with key. After starting without kicking the brakes this is solved, and doesnt happen any more
Arsu - I'm surprised that pressing the brake would affect the starter.
I wonder if we'll see a "service bulletin" for this issue.

i was also surprised when I heard the noise.. but mine is GLS - using a key to start. It sounded like an engine that is already running but you start again the ignition key.Perhaps this is some malfunction of the CVT / clutch mechanism - whatever it is. But solved when I stop pressing the brake while starting.
My push button wont start unless my foot is on the brake. I have had this sound once when I was too fast to select drive whilst it was still starting.

yup.. i would say the noise was 'double ignition', not that the gear was defect..
A reported owner in Malaysia has changed the flywheel under warranty but the problem still persists..

The dealership removed and re fit the starter. No luck. It's still happening. Apparently even after flywheel change it does not help..

What happens if you push the "start" button when the engine is already running? Will it activate the starter? (I would think not.)
The double ignition theory sounds like a good one. If so, that could be a software fix.
