    Gauge calibration

Does anyone know if there is a surefire way to re-calibrate the gauge needles?

I had mine taken apart, and now I'm always going around 5-7kph slower than what it shows.

How can you tell you're going 5-7kph slower?.. GPS?..
speedometer gauges are intentionally made 5kph slower by car manufacturers...

Bigger tires. Or tyres, depending on where you live.

I took it apart in an attempt to change the colour of the gauges.

I can tell I'm going slower by how fast it feels I'm going and what the speedometer says. Also, I've driven by a few speedtraps which display your speed as you go by.

Tires don't have anything to do with it. They haven't been changed.

It was way off when I first got it back together, but I took it apart once more and have gotten it as close as I've stated. Still not perfect. The needle also doesn't go down very smooth from around 35kph to 0.

You have pushed the needle way down too hard .. the needle can't move freely ..that's why I think .. try to push it down lightly

I don't think that's it, actually. Unless you've experienced that? I put it on fairly gently.

If you turn the needle, you'll hear some clicks...I had to do this to fix it the first time. The gauge currently sits at about 3kph when not moving, but I think that the difference gets slightly bigger as I accelerate.

Still hoping for a surefire fix, but it may be a lost cause. I don't want to take the needle off again because that may mess it up even more. More people than me have taken it apart though. I wonder how their experience was with putting it back together?

I've done removal of the needles a few times when I replaced the stock LEDs of the Instrument Panel.

We may have differed in the way of putting back the needles. For me, when I inserted back the needle, I pointed it in the direction of 40 and as I pushed it down gently, rotated it counter-clockwise until it aligned w/ the 0 mark.

So far, my speed indication is about the same w/ the speed registered at the GPS.
