    The highest mountain in Kansas

    Mt Sunflower, 4,039' high.

Really high as you can see from this image:

That is great! I just read the link. I just recently moved to Kansas and am looking for some touristy places to take the family.

We're in Dodge City so may need to add this place to our list.

Where are the giant windmills? I recall seeing a windmill plantation somewhere along I-70.

you realize that that rock IS the Sunflower mountain?

I think Monument rocks should be closer:

We've got those windmills all around us here in Dodge City, KS. We are officially the windiest city in the U.S. with an average daily windspeed of 14mph. Smart idea of these people to profit from it in some way. More ideas could work here, for sure. The farmer's are paid a monthly amount for these companies to plop their windmills down in their fields.

Do they cause any problems for local wildlife, cattle, or agriculture?

Not that I'm aware of, but, I probably don't really have a handle on that business very well. I have a friend I can ask about them, though.

Thanks, Mitsuman. I'm interested to see how that is working.

I do get that the rock is the highest point. I am just looking for any excuse to drive my mirage more than the typical 5 mile trip to Walmart or the shorter trips to work.
