    cvt slight delay when cold

I noticed at below 25 degrees f my cvt seems to be slow to engage drive. Reminds me of a conventional automatic, rpm's go up slightly as it engages, almost like it's slipping. Only when very cold outside and car running maybe 30 seconds to one minute. Fine when warmed up and also ok when outdoor Temps are 30 or better. Anyone experience this? Read about other brands of cars w/cvt doing something similar. Thanks.

I would say it's completely normal. Page 5-18 of the USA operators manual:

Startability of continuously variable trans-mission (CVT) vehicles with an ambienttemperature of -4 °F (-20 °C) or lower When the ambient temperature is -4 °F (-20°C) or lower, it may not be possible to startfrom a standstill even with the selector leverin the “D” (DRIVE) or “R” (REVERSE)position. This phenomenon occurs because the trans-axle has not warmed up sufficiently; it doesnot indicate a problem. If this occurs, placethe selector lever in the “P” (PARK) positionand let the engine idle for at least 10 minutes. The transaxle will warm up, and you will beable to start normally. Do not leave the vehicle during warm-upoperation
