    heater (not getting warm enough)

My 2014 ES 5-speed model is not heating the interior very well, and only the left vent right next to the steering wheel gets warm at all. If I have at least 50-60 miles to go it will get luke-warm, but that's all. I have 41k miles and I guess the thermostat could be going out, but I was wondering if anyone else was having these same issues. Last winter all went well. 1 year and 41k miles seems like a little soon for a t-stat to go out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

If your thermostat is bad then the temperature difference between the top and bottom radiator hoses will not be that great. The coolant exiting the engine should be so hot that you can not hold your hand on that hose for more than a few seconds before you will be burned.

Its likely that an internal gate (specifically the air mixing damper control motor) that is supposed to open deep within the HVAC system to allow hot air into the cabin has failed.

How often does this happen? Is this a common issue with the Mirage? Thanks...

It may also be so cold you need to use recirculate.

Sounds like its worth taking to a dealer to have them handle it. I agree with the others on the possibilities though.

Warranty issues, take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
