Bluetooth OBDII concern

Has anyone ever used one of those Bluetooth obd 2 plugs to use torque elite app on the mirage? Has anyone had any issue when plugging in the device?

I bought the cheapest Chinese one I could find. Manufacturer didn't even put their name on it. Just says obd diagnostic interface and it has some lights on the front. Can't recall who I bought it from. Never had any issues though and the data is nice to have.

Toyota had issued a tsb in which they will not cover any ESP errors if there are obd2 Bluetooth adapter is plugged in for extended periods of time. There had been reports that some cheap adapters off eBay may interfere with Toyota VSP computer communication and may cause other malfunctions. The condition will clear as the device in question removed.

Haven't heard of any reports from Mitsubishi owners.

Buy a Scangauge, like many others i have one and can only say good things about it
I did not want a cheap solution witch maybe hurt the ECU, and otherwise i did not want my phone to me located at the dash all the time or having the issue maybe to connect and re-connect the phone every time i wanted to use the obd2 tool, my Scangauge is just mounted on a cheap but good 2 dollar mount on the left side of the windshield, i just mounted there and that's it Use it

In my case I bought A danish manufactured OBD, no problems at all and works great with torque pro...

If you Google you find a report of McLaren owner taking his car to racetrack and finding that obdii adapter interfering with traction.

If you ask me it is all bunch of bologna; Toyota just covering their arse. Just beware and if you have any ABS/ESP malfunction while adapter plugged in, remove it prior to visiting dealer good luck.

I am not sure it would make any difference, at least for Toyota. They will discard any claim if something is plugged in in obd2 port.
