    Dog in Mirage?

Does anyone take their dog with them when they're driving around in their Mirage? I have a three year old Siberian Husky that I would like to take with me places but I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it. I've folded down the seats in the rear which looks like it could give lots of space for a crate, but when I put the seats down and tested it out, it didn't go to well.

I'd hate to have him in the back seat because he'll be all over the place, and if we got into an accident, would no doubt be a hazard for both of us... Kind of in a pickle here because I enjoyed taking him places and he loves it, but I'm weary of his nails on the seats, drool on the plastic which looks like the plastic that would stain with drool and the tons and tons of dog hair all over the place. Anyone have any tips/pointers? Thanks ^^

What do you mean putting the crate in there didn't go well?

    I'm guessing it won't fit.

There's barrier cages, but there's not much room back there to begin with. We have a 45 lb. medium sized dog. She fits in the way back, but doesn't have much room, and her crate certainly won't fit. I suppose with the barrier bars, the rear storage area becomes a crate.

Yeah, a dog crate should fit in the back no problem.

That would be a small crate. Ours is about twice as wide as the storage space is deep. It *might* fit the width of the cargo area, but will not fit with the seats installed. I would probably have to take the seat and seat backs out to get our crate to fit.

Guess I'll have to measure that.

I seen this on Ebay, my car is Black so it would work for me. I have a 90 lb Doberman and she seems to ride in the car better than I do...lol
