Whoa! Does anyone know if the US cars are equipped with the temperature sensor?
Check behind front bumpers. There is a gap that you can peek and see it.

If you have that parts on your car, you can activate the ambient temp sensor on your MID display (P/N: MR320628)

Thank you guys for pointing this out, I've meant to come back to this thread but life got in the way, I came back to it tonight and was blown away when I read that the Mirage does have it, but it's just not activated, I went to check out my bumper right now to see if I have the sensor and sure enough it was sitting there right behind the bumper. My only question is how do you activate it on the display? Do I have to plug something into the car is there a setting where I can switch it on? Do I need to take it to the dealer? This is the one thing I was bummed that I didn't have on my Mirage and to possibly have it, don't even know what I'd do with myself.. hahaha
Etacs what is that? Anyone care to post a step by step guide on how to do this for the average person.. do you need special hardware or laptop for this....confused
Read the etacs tweaks thread. Or in short version :
1. Buy any j2534 tools (i recommend mini vci, cheap)
2. Download etacsdecoder software.
3. Install j2534 driver on your laptop. Make sure it was installed correctly.
4. Fire up etacsdecoder software. Choose j2534 from the settings menu.
5. Connect the j2534 tools to the laptop and the obd2 connector on the car.
6. Slide on the etacsdecoder tools, make sure key was on (engine not started). It will read and display all the etacs setup pf your car.
7. Change ambient temperature from not available to available on etacs variant page. Press decode (make sure you are connected to internet). Then press write to car. Follow what the software tell you to.
8. After cycle the ign, enjoy the changes you've made.
Further info, see the software site.
