Headlights at night in snow or fog

Anyone have trouble in heavy snow and fog at night? Compared to my Corolla headlights, the Mirage seems to shine straight up. So with just the low beams on forward visibility was nearly zero. Later I stopped at walmart and purchased some gorilla duct tape and taped off the upper half of the headlight lens and BOOM, I could see just fine.

Weird, my headlights have a very distinct cut off line on low beams.

I've had problems with reflected light in other cars during heavy snowfall, especially the big, chunky flakes. I always thought that was what happened during that kind of snowfall.

Could be different bulbs. The filament location is critical, small change - big difference.

Yah for sure. Maybe if they were replaced with a Osram, Philips or Hella H4, beam pattern on low would be better.

I noticed this as well. I don't have fog lights but I'm considering getting them because of this

Fog lights especially with 3000K HID kit make huge difference. Lower placement plus yellow doesn't reflect as much from white fog/snow

What part of the country are you from? We can get some pretty heavy snow here, have never tried the yellows. Do you find that the fogs clog up with snow so you have to stop and clear them out?
