2017 Mitsubishi Mirage Top Speed Is Pretty Insane!

    http://nseavoice.com/cars/2017-mitsu...-92005989.html
What defines a sleeper car? Is it the poor looks but insane performance? Or is it anything on an average looking car that can shock everyone? If it is the latter, then the latest Mitsubishi Mirage will fit the bill as a sleeper car.

The Mirage looks like an average econobox and the vehicle is tailored for the best fuel economy in city conditions. Mitsubishi built the Mirage with a 1.2L 3-cylinder engine that can return a whopping 37mpg city and 43mpg highway.

On the power figures, the Mirage looks pretty sad because it can generate up to 78hp and 74ft-lbs of torque only. The vehicle clocked about 15 seconds to sprint from 0-60mph and it also has a top speed of 165km/h (103mph).

Well, we have tested out the Mirage and on the highway when we slammed the accelerator; we achieved a top speed of 181km/h (111mph). For a small hatch, it was pretty scary and thrilling at the same time because everything was vibrating inside the cabin. Who knew that the Mirage can achieve 111mph?

It will actually go faster than that but it's electronically speed limited to 111 due to the S rated Enasaves. I'm not sure what the actual wind resistance top speed will be. Won't know until somebody turns it off and gives it a go. I know I've had mine into triple digit territory a couple of times, no problem spooling it up.

Be interesting to know how fast it would really go with some V-Rated tires and the speed limiter turned off.

You can just upload the video here https://vid.me/ ? Than can we see it running 180 km/h...
I would never do this in this car, i dont like the "suspension at high speed" the max speed i have driven the mirage for me is 135 km/t.. (Im much more to slow driving and getting good MPG)

Perhaps car safety regulations changed for this year.

I knew. I think downhill 200 km/h is no problem with the european specification. I did 180 km/h one time with stock suspension and it was no problem, not even full throttle on a flat road.

But I also did 180 km/h with my Daihatsu Cuore (58 hp, 190 on the speedometer) and more than 200 km/h with a Daihatsu Copen (87 hp, 216 on the speedometer).

Wind resistance top speed is about 178 km/h for the Mirage 1.2 and 182 km/h for the Space Star 1.2.

PS: 0-60 mph is only 11 seconds and 180 km/h is nothing special, nothing was vibrating at all. I just drove a little bit faster than normal.

Why the heck would you want to go that fast in a Mirage anyways? Even with 92 airbags, you're still a dead duck, if you crash. Imagine a nice rollover at that speed. Off to the scrap yard with the car, and the morgue with the people.
