Excellent post.. I used another material - cut from the leftover of a D-shape Rubber Seal Strip which I put here.

UPDATE: Well the weather strip worked for a few days, then the glove box started rattling away again!

This time I took the advice of another forum user; installing thick electric tape where the glove box latch meets the opening.

Take a look at the pics. I think this solved the problem for good!!

UPDATE #2: This worked for the first drive, but then it started rattling again as the temperature increased. So, I changed the position of the weather strip (2 small pieces only near the top) to see if this will help. Will update tomorrow as I go for another drive. Very annoying to say the least! Clearly Mitsubishi could've designed this better.

I have a 2015 ES with CVT. Car came equipped with USB plug/wire mounted in glove box. A friend was riding with me and rattle was rather noticeable. He opened glove box, saw the USB plug/wire and placed it in two "latches/receptacles" designed to hold USB plug/wire. Latches located along the top of glove box opening. Once placed in "latches/receptacles", the rattle went away.

Yeah, that's one of the first things I did when I got my Mirage.

Does the sound goes away yet? It seems like it is not resolve yet
