I want this thing so very badly but the cost is just way too much for me. I think that 30hp is all that this car needs. It will make the car just fast enough without putting crazy amounts of stress on the engine.

That looks real clean. I'm a fan of turbos.

Do you suppose there is still room for a front strut brace?

It's not a turbo. Belt driven supercharger.

Hah! Thanks. That's what I get for skimming over posts.

    I still think it's cool.

old mech - does something like this - a turbo- or super charger - interest you at all? Have you ever driven a car with one?

I would say no to the strut tower brace. It does not sit that high.

I have driven a lot of cars. One of the most radical was a customers 280Z turbo running 15 pounds of boost. I would guess the horsepower at 400 plus in a 2400 pound Z car. The engine block was grooved and o-ringed to keep from blowing the head gasket.
It was modeled after a 1970 510 built by a racer called Turbo Tom Wyatt (google it). His car could outrun a 427 Cobra on the Road Atlanta race track back in the 1980s when Paul Newman was racing Datsuns.

This Z car was one scary son of a gun and that's coming from a person who drove a DeTomaso Pantera and a lot of other cars ranging from a 1967 383 Formula S Barracuda to a 1967 390 GT Mustang and the first Kawasaki Z1 super bike in 1975. So much power you could virtually loose it at an speed in any direction. Enough power to literally twist the unibody to pieces.

Been there done that. These days I just try to keep the dumuses from killing me.

    regards
    mech

if this supercharger kit gains 30hp, then a turbo will gain considerably more. which makes me giggle with excitement. 76 bhp to 106 bhp is a nice jump. Which means my turbo upgrade around 120hp is possible, even 150 should be doable if I rebuild the motor. The excitement grows....
