    carbon fiber mirror delete

Just got done installing a carbon fiber mirror delete panel i made. Cost was free, i had all the materials and stainless hardware. Still need too seal it but done for now, the oem gasket didn't work and I'll get material tomorrow for it.

I can feel the mpgs climbing! ;-)

Looks great! I just keep mine folded in case I need it! (driver side folded too most of the time).

We are going to need to see a fuel log though!

    Hi thanks guys

I haven't destroyed anything this far, so everything can go back to oem.

I plan to do other things, waiting on summer temps, But I'll get some kind of data together later than sooner.

    I'm in Cudahy Wisconsin. (milwaukee)

Cool! You're not terribly far from me. I'm in Port Washington, but I go to Milwaukee almost every weekend. And Daox is in Germantown. If I ever see your car, I'll take a pic. You should think about selling these, and making a how-to.

I think it's a great mod for getting better mpgs, but i would not drive without a mirror if i had the choice, with and without ..
    (Only my opinion)

A lot of budget cars came without passenger mirrors. My first car, a 1993 Toyota Tercel base model came with only the driver's side mirror. This is arguably just to keep the car cheaper, but it also does reduce frontal area and improves aerodynamics.

Here are some examples of people testing the benefits. MPG benefits show an improvement of 1% to almost 4% from removing rear view mirrors.

Ya its definitely not for everyone. Its a 2 minute job too put the mirror back on so it isn't a big deal. If i know I'm driving too Chicago downtown at rush hour... I'll debate throwing it back on lol

I own 4 cars, of which only 2 came with 2 mirrors. Now only 1 has 2 mirrors. I guess I'm just used too it. The mirage has a reasonably sized blind spot, but its far from hindering. Shouldn't we all be turning our heads anyways??
