Go to tiresize.com and click on the Tire Comparison tab. Input 165-65-14 and the tires you are considering...then click the Compare button. You will be able to see any speedometer error.
thanks for the site now i understand how it works. but question regarding the speedo error if it shows something like just a few .01 .02 difference from the oem will it be ok?

btw here my comparison from my oem 175/55/15 to 205/60/13

The diameter of that 205-60-13 tire can't get any closer to your original tire. You will see no measureable speedometer error from a match that close.

is the width ok? will it fit?
That's another issue. The width and offset of those 13" wheels will affect that. Do you know the width and offset of your 13 inch wheels? If so, you can check out the website willtheyfit.com. Just input your wheel dimensions and tire sizes there, and this tool will give you an idea of how the two compare.

I will tell you this...I think a 205 tire might rub...I'm not sure.

I may be wrong but I think the more a wheel sticks out from the car the more stress it places on the wheel bearings and other suspension & steering components.

Here is the comparison between the OEM wheel/tire combo and changing to a 13x5.5 with a 38 offset with a 175/70r 13. Really really close.

    Do 205/60/13 tires even exist?

From what I've seen track only tires. But maybe somebody makes a highway version.

That looks like a near perfect fit. I can't imagine that 175-70-13 having any fitment or rubbing issues.

Nope, the 13x5 VX wheels with 175/70/13 fits perfectly on the '14-'15 Mirages.

Note that it will NOT fit on a 2017 Mirage because of the larger brakes.

I didn't even think about that. The brakes on these cars are so small, it's hard to imagine any wheel not fitting over the calipers...even on a 2017. Thanks for the info.

The tire prices for 13" are just too good to not consider this.
