Question Coasting on/off (hard to explain)

    Hello folks!

This is kind of hard to explain, but I'm going to try anyway. I have the Mirage 1.0 72 hk manual European version. I'm not sure of the specs other than that. I have a long hill down from my work, and to keep 70 km/h I put it in third and just coast down the hill. When doing that I get a wierd cycle of ~10 seconds of coasting and ~10 seconds of something that feels like a slight break (but from the engine if you know what I mean). Then it goes back and forth like that.

Sometimes I can also feel it while driving flat out up the hill. The engine kind of gives full power, then a slight dip in power, then full power and so on.

    What can this be?

    Is your air conditioning running?

Air conditioning compressor can do that. Some in cabin air settings will turn the AC compressor on but not illuminate the AC indicator so youight think it's off.

Yes, that's running so that would probably be the culprit!

I will try the hill without air conditioning on to see if it stops, and if it does I know for sure. Nothing wrong with my car then!

Just remember to cover your brakes down that hill.
