will be standard by 2022. Hopefully we can live until then. A great safety feature...http://www.nhtsa.gov/About+NHTSA/Pre...n-aeb-03172016

I already have that on my Mirage.
It's called my right foot. This amazing tool coupled with attention to the job of driving and years of experience doing things right has the uncanny ability to brake when necessary even without thinking about it.
Having auto braking as a mandatory feature simply enables those who put no thought and effort into the task of driving. This does not make highways safer it just allows more people with underdeveloped skills out on the roads to kill the rest of us.
    Will weld for beer.

Interestingly, I've heard that Your Right Foot can also better anticipate developing traffic situations better than some electronic sensor.

    But that's just hearsay...

You gotta admit the technology available is pretty amazing.

All this kind of tech does is make it easier for dumbasses to stare at Facebook while driving.

They should. They're responsible for forcing it on us.

Man I hate it when they force safety stuff on us. You know, like seat belts, air bags, all that crap that saves lives.

I am sure you can't wait for those super-duper safe driver-less cars, either....but I can.

You're right. I would rather have my car drive me back and forth from work, rather than die because some knot-head decides to play ricky-racer, or someone on their phone runs into me. Don't kid yourself, there is no stopping the autonomous car push.
