Hopefully with the selectable AWC system, and a low range!

is it overkill if it is equipped with low gear? it's not like we gonna used it for offroad... hehehe

I believe the Ralliart has an evo 9 awd system where as the lancer se has a more basic awd system

I was joking when I hoped for awc and low range. That said, it could be useful. 99.9% of the time I don't need either, though I have used my Ford Focus to tow a broken-down pickup truck home (I used 2nd gear at high rpm's and ran the heater at max to try to help with cooling), and I pulled a tree out of the bush with a Dodge Omni. I do get stuck in snow about once every 4 years too. I like the quote "4-wheel drive doesn't mean you get stuck any less, it just means you get stuck in less accessible places". I expect that even if offered, I would not want to pay the penalty in extra weight/friction/fuel efficiency and cost (I think with the lancers the awc option adds at least $6k)

We just had our first good snowfall here (accidents galore), and I was just wondering how many of you have driven through snow with your Mirage yet? How does it drive through it?
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing
Current project: Developing a rear sway bar alternative

Reviewer writing about the Mirage in winter conditions:

Shod with Pirelli Snowcontrol Serie 3 winter tires, the lightweight Mirage makes the most of its three-banger.

The traction control may be blinking at you, though there must be someone in the Mitsy engineering department that likes a little extra wheel spin in winter as much as I do.

When you only have 74 lb-ft of torque to work with, you really have to do silly things to engage a ‘skrunk’ event from the traction nannies.

Auto journalists like to call this ‘fun.’ You’ll be surprised how quickly you can move off the line, even if that line is an icy one.

    Mirage owner says...

We haven't noticed a difference in handling in the snow between the mirage and other small cars we used to drive (cavalier, saturn, jetta), but we have always been cautious drivers.

Mine goes like a plow, with stock tires. I live in the snow belt by lake Erie.
