Some threads are just good straight forward information, good to have whenever you need to look them up, regardless of age.

They should be sticky because of their practical value, including but not limited to the three how-to's about camber, toe-in, caster...

Excellent instructions. I did this and I've always been afraid of touching springs. This was super easy. The reason I did it was because I have an excellent set of 15" Blizzak winter tires that rubbed just a bit in the rear. The VW Beetle springs raised the height in the rear and stiffened it up just enough that most of the contact over bumps is gone. And subjectively, it seems to have gotten rid of a bit of the roll. I went through last winter with these Blizzaks and car did fantastically in snow and ice. Better, I'd say, than all wheel drive with all season tires.

    Thanks for the good write-up.

Question: Does alignment need to be checked and adjusted after replacing the springs?

Yes I would go get your alignment checked before you do the spring install and then do one after. The rear is non adjustable and is known for being out of spec from the factory. Lowering has seemed to make the rear toe in and camber worse on some members vehicles.

I'm going to be doing this install soon. When it comes to the struts (step 9) you say there's a special tool. Any isight on this? I have done many lowering springs in my day. Just want to know if there's anything out of the ordinary? Is the strut rod's top flat so you can get vise grips on it them turn a top nut? Any photos?

I don't believe there was mention of needing camber bolts. Are they needed for a 3cm drop?

Hi, how is the VW beetle springs and anyone else tried Yaris springs?

Am having diffcultly to use 4823152f30 yaris spring 2013 spring, any one has used any other yaris spring that can be mounted to rear mirage so the original spring issue can be resolved?

I thought I sent you a message, but I can't find it...so maybe I didn't. Looks like your inbox is full.

I just got Eibach springs and wondered how far into WI from MN you are. I would be interested in trading food (beer? What's your thing?) for your experience and use of your tools if you'd help me install them safely. Do I need any other parts (camber bolts, shims? etc.)?

Since I can't send this as a PM, this is open to anyone close to Minneapolis...
