Ground and painted front routers 2015 Mirage ES

Back on May 4, 2022 I update the front rotors on my 2015 Mirage ES to ones I bought at a junk yard on a 2018 Mirage.

I was getting some noise on the first drive of the day.
Pulled them and found some rust near the edges.
The pads where changed back around June of 2023 and they are still overall good shape.

Did some grinding and painting. Most of the rotor under the pads is fine. Just near the edges. Only rusty primer for now. Will be checking them again in 2024

The car has around 95 K miles on it

I understand some aftermarket rotors come painted/coated to help reduce this rusting problem.

Yes, I am not even sure how you would go about painting the inside of ventilated disks

Since a set of new rotors locally are €42.- incl. freight (US $40.-) I wonder if the trouble is worth it...

    Pair
    $53 + Tax Ebay
    $50 with tax Rock Auto

So ya it is a test to see how long I can get them to last.
If I find the time I hope to paint them black before it rains again

Did you also file the pads down so they're flat?

If I'm just cleaning up and painting rotors, I will drop them into some EvapoRust for a while. That stuff works as well as the video shows...

Obviously this works for rotors that are in good shape...but are just rusty.

The pads were 95% flat. The rust will most like come back on rotor were they are not touching Thanks
