I'm pushing 75k, and I've had no serious problems(aside from the rear alignment issue which was resolved under warranty). I've got no squeaks or rattles(knock on wood), and I regularly stuff the car full of stuff and/or people. I'd love to get a euro transmission, for even better highway fuel economy, but otherwise the car performs admirably.

I have 48,000 on my '15 ES manual, and other than four corroded lug nuts which were replaced under warranty I have no problems to report. My girlfriend has 43,000 on her '14 DE manual and hasn't had any trouble. I know three other people who own Mirages ('15 CVT DE, '15 manual DE, '17 CVT ES), and I haven't heard of them having issues, either.

Major problems with these cars are very few and far between. The only real issues have been the factory rear-end alignment issues and the car's tendency to chew through front brake pads.

I have spent much time working in Malaysia where Mitsubishi and cars with Mitsubishi 3 cylinder engines are popular. Thanks to tariffs, imported cars are very expensive and home market cars are clones of imports and not well made. Consequently, they tend to keep cars a long time. And they have to sit in heavy traffic with AC goin 12 month a year. When cared for, the little 3's where quite reliable, though when in an auto equipped car, not particularly smooth.

I'm only at 45 k with my manual but I'd like to add that after a 15,000 mile oil change interval I lost/burned about a quarter of a liter worth of oil which I consider to be very low. This indicates a very tight and healthy engine.

You mention the Spark with a CVT, are all your Mirages also automatic?

I think weather in which you live inn affects the car a lot. Cold winters and ice and snow and salt is rough on a car. The more years it's spent in rough weather/ location the more it affects your cars life. That's with any vehicle.
