Speaking of the Lancer, that platform debuted in 2008. And Mitsubishi still sells it. There is no guarantee we will see anything in '19 but a carryover model with the Mirage.

I would agree with you on that if it weren't for the intense competition the Mirage faces in southeast Asia, where they sell the bulk of them. They'll have to innovate to stay in the fight, and we'll benefit. That's my best guess.

I might trade my Mirage in for the last year Lancer if they give me a good enough deal on the trade in. Otherwise I'm probably going Subaru Imprezza. My brother just got the hatchback model for $19k and he loves it. Somethings have better service intervals like the CVT never needs servicing.

The whole CVT never needs servicing is kinda a scam with Subaru. Their maintenance schedule shows fluid inspection by the dealer every 30K miles and fluid change every 24K miles if the vehicle has been operating under what they consider "severe" conditions. The only thing they've done is taken the ability of the owner to check it and made it a dealer only item so they can charge you $80 an hour to do so. With a 60K miles powertrain warranty Subaru doesn't have to worry too much if this is a long term good idea. Apparently their CVT is ludicrously expensive to replace also, over $5,000.00. I'm not saying that Subaru doesn't make good cars but when you hear the words "never needs maintenance" that's code for "sweet billable shop hours" for the dealer.

I traded in my Mirage today. The salesman told me the Mirage G4 will become a mid sized sedan. The hatch back will stay the same. The eclipse is coming back, the raider, and the lancer/Evo, but the last one only after a rework and a few years off.

I was going to, but they had $7k in rebates for the Outlander Sport that I qualified for. They also gave me $7,500 for my Mirage as a trade in. It literally squash the remainder of the Mirage loan and I didn't have to put anything down. I added pictures and a farewell to both my garage entry and my original welcome post.

Maybe it will be a hybrid similar to the new Honda NSX
