Wow I'm so glad i didnt buy a daewoo spark

Ya. After peeking over at the spark forum... So glad I didn't buy that bailout pos. Holy crap. Bad pcv valves and blown motors and no ac. How did Mitsubishi figure out how to properly apply the Jatco cvt yet government motors couldn't?
Bless Mitsubishi for making the mirage. I almost bought a daewoo spark.

I thought about a Spark, too. But I remembered what a dog the Daewoo-built Aveo was and came to my senses quickly. I also took a look at the Spark Forum when shopping for my Mirage.

It isn't an enthusiast forum...it' a 'support group'!

    What a piece of junk.

Its a shame cuz i really liked how the Spark looks. My second choice for a sub-compact car would be a Mazda2. I really like the cheapness of tires and rims for 14"s tho.

I also like the looks of the 2016. But I didn't realize they had so many problems.

There are reasons to favor the Mirage over the Spark...but 14" wheels isn't one of them!

Right after I bought my Mirage, I studied the wheels/tires of a Spark, Mazda-2 and Fiat 500 in my parking lot. These cars all looked good on their 15" wheels and 185-55-15 tires...unlike the strange stance my Mirage had sitting on its tiny 14" wheels with overly-positive offset.

I quickly concluded that the right 15" wheels/tires would not only cure the Mirage's homely stance, but would open up a much better selection of tires at a cost comparable to (or lower than) the few 14" tires available for the Mirage. Over time, I will spend the same (or less) on 15" tires because of the wider selection available in all sorts of styles and treadwear ratings. And if you choose wisely, 15" wheels/tires won't impact your fuel economy.

I was looking at a Mazda 2. Nice little car. I'd love a 2 door mirage on 15's with a nice final top gear for hwy driving. My aspire and tercel were 2 doors. Loved them. Nobody wanted to cram in the back of them

I really like the look of the Spark too. I think it's the cutest new car. But it was more expensive and got worse fuel economy than the Mirage.

Agreed. The new restyled ones anyway. The original design was really ugly and the dash/gauges was the most ebay-after- thought looking thing I've ever seen on a new car

Same here. Was seriously considering the Spark until took a look at their forum. I'm no cars expert, buy tons of complaints about engine problems made cross the Spark out.

I really liked the new redesign also. But I had perused the spark forum extensively before buying my Mirage and there are a lot of engine and transmissions problems with the Spark. It doesn't appear after lurking around recently that much has changed in that department. The Mirage isn't perfect by any means but it is reliable which is the most important factor in my book. I can live with wimpy tires/wheels, spongy springs, etc... But what I can't have is a drive train that is prone to self destruction. Mirage is hands down the winner here.
