Wondering if they are. Than maybe they'll offer some stupid rebate to get the 17 sold. I'd love to get a 17 ... But they're still too much lol.

I am sure they will make an '18 (unless Mother Nissan stops them), but it will likely be a carryover from '17 with few changes.
And I don't think we will see the crazy rebates like we did in the spring of '15. I think that happened because Mitsubishi skipped the '16 MY and made the '15s for 1 1/2 years.

There's a dealer in NY with an advertised price of 10,400 for a orange 17 manual. My local dealer has one advertised at nearly 13k. I want to go buy a 5mt for me and my girl wants the 15 es. But my local guy needs to come way down off that 13k price. I saw a black one in baltimore advertised for 9900. 17 es 5mt. At that price I'm in. The depreciation is TOO much. I did a kbb last night on my aunt's 17 se with 300 miles on it. Kbb had it priced at like 5-6k trade in and 7-8.5k private. So at 10k or less I'd be in...

They have good deals down here in central Florida. Rc Hill has 17 ES models listed as low as $8600 although that includes military rebate so add another $500 and their dealer fee is high at $895, but that's still less then 10k for an ES. The SE is listed at $10500. If they can get me in an SE stick for 11 something out the door, I just may bite.

Sort of. Mitsubishi started selling them this past March, but we are still a week away from calendar year '17. They really won't be day-old eggs until this coming fall, so there wouldn't be any real reason for Mitsubishi to start blowing them out until then.
And I don't think any really steep discounts on the '17s would be seen until spring of '18...after the '18s have been out a while.
But I could be wrong. Whether your '17 Mirage was bought in March of '16 or March of '17 doesn't really matter...it's still a '17.

I sometimes wonder if that's a marketing strategy. It should help resale, too.

I wouldn't rule out discounts completely from the future. Mitsubishi likes to have the "most economical" car on the market I think, both in sale and operation. The high msrp if anything help the used value.
