Mitsubishi to end Lancer production August/2017

I came across this article on the web. It looks like the Lancer has one more model year of production then it's good-bye.

The Mirage will likely see a boost in sales when this happens?

Here is a link to the article:

No surprise here. That platform debuted for the 2008 model year.

Hopefully, there will still be a '16 Lancer GT with a manual transmission sitting new on a dealership lot near me after I refinance my house this spring/summer.

From what I read, that TTAC article is clickbait speculation. It references an article from Motor1 that itself lists no references from either Mitsubishi nor Mitsubishi North America.

So long as TTAC & Motor1 can get folks to click, they get the ad revenue. In that sense they are like a potato chip - a way to deliver salty flavor with no nutrition.

I would be interested in hearing a press release from MMNAs Don Swearingen rather than the speculation of these critics.

Looks like Autoblog had a conversation with Don Swearingen

I would miss it but want to get rid of mine too, the seat ergonomics and mpg(awc) are horrid

No argument about fuel economy with awc. I took a look on fuelly.com awhile back and you're right. Horrid is a very accurate description for mpg's.

That's my mpg on the lancer driving slow. Any spirited driving and it drops to 22

That's about the best I've seen.
