Really bad video review (2017 GT): "Mirage is an insult to its breed" (Autoguide.com)

Mitsubishi once again shows it's clueless about dealing with the media, by sending a top spec Mirage GT CVT to a major reviewer.

This is one of the harshest ones I've seen since the 2014 first came out in the U.S. Easily the least "professional" review I've seen in a long time.

    And there's a video...

Link to video to view 100+ comments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J0itmKd8FU

    Plus there's the web review:

    http://www.autoguide.com/manufacture...rage-gt-review

It's a particularly unforgiving one - includes the usual list of complaints. The YT vid has over 50 comments, currently.

What I don't get where he gets off spouting this line in his web piece (my emphasis):

You could get any number of much nicer used cars for that outlay, or even a midrange Fiesta hatch, which is orders of magnitude more fun to drive and probably more reliable to boot.
Incredibly unprofessional. What could he possibly base that statement on?

I read the review. Wow, talk about hyperbole! Here's a perfect example... "The Mirage also assails your senses with deafening wind noise at any speed greater than stop."

He must have had a magical demo car that transcended the laws of physics....this guy is an a--hat....

Wow! That kinda made me angry. They really need to test the base 5-speed for a change.

...our top-of-the-line GT model cost $17,330.

Clearly there must be an international crack shortage because Mitsubishi executives smoked it all when they came up with that figure.

What a douche. Although I agree.. Dump the gt badging. It's an SE in North America with some nice rims and heated seats.
Off to the dealer. Can't stand the exhaust and brake noise on my 17 with 700 miles

He got it steeply discounted in December of '13. Why was it discounted? Because it was loaded. The sales guy said they can't keep the cheap ones on the lot, but the one my friend bought had been sitting at this dealership for over a year. MSRP of $33k, he paid $28k.

Sheesh...in the Internet Age, any tool that can string a sentence together gets to be heralded as a professional critic with an opinion that matters. Wait, I resemble that remark!

Mitsubishi didn't send out ANY 5-speeds for U.S. reviews this year.

    YES, I ASKED.

I suggested they'd get better reviews of the base model from certain media outlets. I think my comment might have been interpreted as a joke.

Then again, fewer and fewer people (including the new generation of reviewers) know how to drive stick.
