Question Has anyone done a rear disc brake upgrade?

After working on my 2007 Honda Fit's rear drum brake, I don't want to work on another set of drum ever again.
With that note, has anyone found a swap or cheap upgrade that works with the 2014-2017 Mirage?

I know brake swapping is popular with Hondas, not sure about Mirage.

IIRC, swapping to disc brakes on the hatchback model requires the entire rear torsion assembly from a G4 sedan with the discs?. I suppose it would be a good time to try and address any rear-end alignment issues.

They all have drum brakes in the rear, including the G4.

In order to do a brake upgrade on these cars, there has to be some model to upgrade the brakes from. I don't think such a vehicle exists yet, as there is no performance version of the car sold in any market that I am aware of.

I see. if any advanced mechanic here who happens to take apart their rear, please post the bore of the rear wheel bearing, maybe we can press a different hub on it. i've seen people press different hub on Hondas to go from 4 lugs to 5 lugs.

If you're serious about converting to rear disc brakes then it's time to go junkyard hunting and find a late 80's Dodge Colt / Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo Hatchback. They had rear disc brakes. Pads are readily available on Rock Auto. You just need the hardware.

Wouldn't you need a different master cylinder as well?

Drum brakes utilize residual pressure valves?
    Or is this old school?

(I swapped from FRONT drums to front disks on my project car and had to swap masters for this reason)

True, but could be different from car to cars, I can only speaks from experience, but take some Hondas for example, many Civic upgraded their rear to disc without changing the MC but that is because regardless of which model, they all uses the same size of the MC.

I'm thinking this would take a lot of fabrication to make something work. Remember the rear axle is 1 big piece...with some rather strange looking "spindles" or "stub axles" welded onto each end of the assembly...
