Yeah, that would be 4 inches longer. That seems too far off. I don't think I can get a very accurate measurement by hand. Plus is it external circumference, internal? Too many variables. Going to the dealer. I'll report back.

The ACDelco belt is smaller than the Dayco belt according to rockauto. Amazon says the Dayco belt is smaller. This is why I hate working on cars! I wish the OEM dealer had the length specs but they don't, at least not on any of the OEM sites I looked at. I'm going to go to the dealer today and overpay for the OEM, at least I'll know it's right.
I've used both belts they can be tight going on. One trick is put the belt on the harmonic, ac compressor and alternator first. Then slide it over the waterpump(smooth pulley) last. Your car does have ac I assume?

I was wondering about that but I didn't try it. Anyway the mystery has been solved. I brought it in to a mechanic and it turns out the belt was a defect, it was an inch short. They order another Dayco and put it on. Only cost me $50.

    Thanks!

Getting the belt tension correct may be of interest.

I can't get to that shortcut but I did what the OP did. I kept tightening it a little then driving it to see if the belt squeal would stop.

My mechanic used this one from Napa on my 2014. Works great, not a sqeak during idle.

The correct belt for Mirage with A/C has 6 ribs and a length of 1240mm.

    Gates part: 6PK 1240

    Contitech part: 6PK1240

For cars without A/C the belt also has 6 ribs but a length of 906mm.

    Contitech part: 6PK906
