    Rear wiper pattern

When I test drove a Mirage, the only thing that bothered me was the off-centre pattern of the rear wiper (maybe it's my OCD but I like things symmetrical). For those of you who own a Mirage, do you notice the rear wiper coverage to be strange or different from other cars? Most cars with rear wipers seem to have a short, centrally mounted wiper that makes a symmetrical wipe. The Mirage's angled offset arm is a bit different.

Do you guys just get used to it? As an odd request, can anybody with a dirty hatch post a picture of their wipe pattern?

I don't notice it as a problem. I notice *not* having a rear wiper when I drive a sedan, though.

Sorry my rear window isn't so dirty. At least it can give some representation of the pattern, if only for discussion.

It's off a little to the left. Just like Johnny Junior. Get over it

Well, that is kinda weird how it leaves a big section not wiped. Not too much can be done about that, I guess.

My observation is that the area not covered by the wiper is somewhat hidden by the rear seat headrests. I didn't notice this until after reading this thread.

I guess the way they made the wiper this way was to cut down weight and production costs, every cent counts :P

It's... a little more complicated than that.

There's only so much room inside the rear hatch. Moving the wiper to the center, and making it sweep a full 180 degrees, means bigger, heavier, components which give no real benefit, and might not fit in the small space in the hatch.

Ya I usually have the rear headrests out.. they are intrusive in my opinion.
