and this one is uploading upside down for some reason...I'm not having any luck with pics today. it's supposed to be looking from the drivers to the rh side, you can see the rear 02 sensor sticking out of the downpipe.

It's the same on my 2016 Attrage.
I prefer the older style that is 2 piece as you can remove it easily without having to remove other stuff around it.
The new one piece is a ***** to remove. I had to dislodge the right hand cvt drive shaft in order for the exhaust manifold to come out.
For those thinking of changing to after market headers will have to shorten the rest of the downpipe.
Basically the new manifold is shorter in length as compared to the older manifolds that after market manifolds are modelled after.

I've got a '17 with this setup as well.
It seems odd to me that the bottom of the manifold is solid mounted (bolted) to the engine sub-frame.
To make this work wouldn't the engine have to be solid mounted? I can't see it staying together otherwise.
Could this be the cause of the rattling/resonance I get at certain rpm that was not present with my '14 Mirage that had softer engine mounts and a flex pipe from manifold to exhaust which is now gone as well.
Seems a bit hinky to me.

Can you get a picture of what you're talking about? That sounds REALLY odd, especially since 3 cylinders are inherently a bit more vibration prone.

I don't believe the manifold is mounted to the subframe. If it is on your car then you found your problem and your car would vibrate like crazy. The manifold/cat is more likely bolted to the engine. That would make more sense. I'll take a look at a 17' and try to post better pics. I agree with Fit, the older separate cat/manifold is way easier to work on.

hmmm...contacts or glasses?
