Did you fill the tank with 20/10 or some other de-icer, or did you just assume Mitsubishi would do it for you when they brought the car over from THE TROPICS??

It may be 11 degrees in Boston, but it's 81 degrees in Phuket.

Good point. I thought regular washer fluid was good down to 20°F

Depends on the fluid. Some are good down to -40.

But it's certainly not a problem with the car. My BMW has a heated washer system, but that is only because it came with the Cold Weather Package. I don't think it is even an option on the Mirage?

Attending to things like this are all part of the 'winterization' process that people are supposed to do every fall. That the car is new doesn't change the fact that these are things which need to be attended to when the weather changes.

If anyone dropped the ball here it was the dealership. This likely should have been handled when they did the 'Dealer Prep' that BJB likely paid for.

Exactly. Cause my fiancé called. The 15 ES is frozen as well. I told the service tech to throw that summer crap out. We are in new England. I may be a prick and have Mitsubishi tow both cars to dealer because of this.

I've never opened my radiator cap. I presume there's a reasonable mix of antifreeze in it not just water ... Regardless of phukets winter ambient temp lol

Sorry, BJB was talking about his windshield washer lines being frozen. It was his washer tank that had summer washer fluid in it, and thus it froze in the Boston winter temps.

The radiator has nothing to do with the discussion, and I am sure yours is fine.

I was being facetious. I presume you understand my point though.

I'll take it off your hands then. It'll be a burden, but one I'm willing to take for you lol.
