Mitsubishi expanding Philippines production: 2nd plant to build subcompacts, SUV's

Mitsubishi Motors has announced that it will be expanding production in the Philippines with the building of a second assembly plant on the outskirts of Manila. Set to be completed sometime in 2015, the new facility will have a build capacity of 100,000 vehicles a year, according to the Nikkei.

The new facility will reportedly build subcompacts as well as SUV's, and capacity is expected to double to 200k units/yr within 2 years.

No word if local Mirage assembly is planned.
