    Airbag systems are very particular. If there is an issue, the light will come on and stay on. Many different model cars I worked on with airbag issues required not only the replacement of parts, but a code scan and clear from a dealer. Any and all airbag codes (active or inactive) will remain in memory, so if the light is off and stays off, you are good.
