    Just Bought one

    Howdy,

I just bought my first brand new car. The mirage!

    I'm 24, a School Bus Mechanic.
Been a member on the Geo metro Forum for a long time.

I was going to keep fixing up my beaters however it's far too costly.
    I own a 97 Suburban, 91 Metro, 95 Metro, and 93 Festiva.

I will be narrowing it down to the Suburban and the Mirage.

Looking forward to some excellent support on here. Has anyone had any problems with the 17 Mirages?

    Pictures comeing soon.

Hello Tubablake and welcome to the forum.

We haven't had many problems reported with the 2017 Mirages. It's been almost a year since they were rolled out here in North America.

Show off your Mirage & make a garage entry. Garage empty: add car

I'm curious - did this forum influence your decision to buy a Mirage?

Welcome! Yet another Metro owner buying a Mirage. I love mine! Enjoy it. Did you get a hatchback or G4? Manual or CVT?

Hey, Tubablake! I thought I recognized that handle. Lotta Metro guys here now. I have nearly 60,000 miles on my '15 and haven't had a single problem. The '17s should be trouble-free as well since they are pretty much the same car minus some cosmetic differences.

Hi tubablake, welcome to the forum. Had a few Metro's (Swift) in 1.0L and the motor-cycle-on-wheels 1.6L versions too, and was pretty active in the Geo Metro Forum a decade ago.
I think of the Mirage like a bigger (wider) and modernized Metro. Theyre just as reliable too.
You may want to do some cavity waxing around the perimeter inside the doors, and a few other places. Silencing is very easy and effective with self-sticking 1.6mm asphalt tiles on the floor and firewall from inside. There are plenty of interesting threads here...

Hey! I wondered if I'd see any of you guys over here. No I was always in Wv. I got a hatchback with the 5 speed. I was thinking of taking it to Geopalooza. Has anyone taken a mirage there yet? Good to know that some of you guys are over here. Metro owners are always the best for help. As far as the forum influencing my decision, not really I had been looking at these since they came out. I believe I even made a post on Geometroforum about the mirage. One thing I am paying attention to is the misaligned rear axles.
