Tires only, of course. No shipping, taxes, or mounting/balancing.

In the US, Costco does not do front end alignments.

There are some shops (in the US) that offer good deals on 3 and 5 year alignment plans. Firestone sells a lifetime alignment for something like $189. That might sound like a lot, but that's a great deal if you plan on hanging on to your car for several years.

Do they have Discount Tire in Canada? They offer occasional killer deals like this forum member just got.

On their site it says that they have free shipping to Canada, and their tires aren't a bad price. However as a Canadian, I wouldn't be able to apply for their American credit card, thus I wouldn't be able to get that 120 discount regardless. Used steelies on classifieds aren't particularly expensive and can easily be picked up for 20-25 CAD each. Heck, I picked up my whole set of winter tires on (admittedly rusty) steelies for 25 CAD each, and they definitely have at least another winters life.

Even so, it's a viable option. I'm just missing out on some goodies that seem worthwhile.

If you are looking for tires....

    http://mirageforum.com/forum/showthr...V312-165-65R14

I ordered a set of these just to have them on hand. It was about $157 for four tires shipped to my house. Plus, they are the right oddball size...165/65-14. They arrived very quickly, but I was actually sent a different model than the one shown. I got the Vee Rubber CityStar (Vee Rubber makes the Nika Avatar anyway). Made in Thailand, actually. Just like the car!

They look like decent tires, and for the money it's gonna be hard to complain! Figure $80-$100 for install, and you are at about half of what the Pirellis would cost you. Not sure how much shipping to the Great White North would be, but it might be worth investigating?

actually that'd be considerably cheaper, considering 3 of my stock tires are still good really. It really is hard to find them with shipping to canada... sigh
