Monroe also got back to me this morning.

    Tim,

Unfortunately, we do not have information on what or if any future plans are in the works for this vehicle application. However, I will make an internal note on our coverage reports to ensure our marketing and engineering team is aware of the demand in the market for units. We apologize for any frustration or inconvenience that this may have caused.

Ranny, I decided to calculate my fuel mpg based on miles driven divided by gallons at fill up. The results was pretty shocking.
I filled up the car, drove 444 miles and filled up again with 8.9 gallons, which is all it would take. My mpg for this past tank was an astonishing 49.88 mpg! Mixed driving, mostly highway.
The average mpg since new is now up to 45.2 mpg according to the computer in car.
I never expected the car to do this well. Still not as good as a Mirage, but amazing for a 4cyl. non-hybrid car.
Hopefully it goes up even more so I can crack the 50mpg barrier.
I fill tires with a little more air than recommended (40 psi) and try to drive gently and look ahead, planning for red lights, stops etc. not racing up to red lights....common sense stuff which honestly, isn't so common, many drivers drive like they do not care about fuel, brakes, wear and tear to their cars.
Hope this info helps you and anyone else who is considering buying a fuel efficient and fun car.
