New member. About to purchase a Mirage. Questions (Update: bought 2!)

    Hi all,

We are actually looking at 2 mirage's! 2017 se hatchbacks.
    We are getting 2 5spds.

So I've been working with a dealer and one of my requirements are getting both cars up on their alignment rack to check the alignment.

    Thanks to this forum!

I'm hoping they come back good. I won't buy unless they are in spec or have new axles put in.

I've been reading through the long axle threads.

Okay just wanted to say hi.

Welcome to the forum! Good to see you're having the dealer check the alignment before accepting delivery. Post some pics of your ride when you bring it home!

And that's a lot of reading.

I get the impression Mitsubishi is taking care of this problem. My hope is they maintain the quality control standards and not let things slump.

Good luck. Looking forward to reading more about how this works out for you.

The guy I've been working the deal with via email said they will check the alignment.
I asked if he's heard of the issue and he said No.

I also requested a print out for both cars when performed.
On Friday he said he put in a request to service to have the alignment checked. Now I'm waiting to hear back when performed.

I think that's a smart (and pro-active) thing to do. The salesman probably thinks you're nuts...but I bet he doesn't read this forum. If they want to sell you a car, it will take about 10 minutes of a technician's time to get a reading for you.

    Keep us posted!

Salesman emailed me saying the should go on the rack tomorrow. Hoping no red is showing on alignments. And that it gets done tomorrow.

He knows I won't even be going in until they are either clear or issue or receive new axles.

Smart way to handle this. I have never seen a 5-speed SE hatch for sale anywhere near me...let alone TWO!

There's not any around me either. I will be travelling over 200 miles to get them.

Hope all is well. It will be nice to get amazing mileage.
