Clicking sound at 40Km per hour

Every time I increase speed past 40 KPH there is a single clicking sound and I feel it in the throttle pedal.
I think I have work out that it's the air bag under the seat being activated.
It happens ever time I increase speed not when I slow down below 40.
Does this happen to other Mirages? Please let me know.

That is interesting. By air bag under the seat, do you mean a "knee" collision airbag?

Have you asked your Mitsu dealer?

The standard collision airbag that is built into the side of the seat. I think the designers did not want it
to deploy below 40KM hr-low speed impact. However the driver and and passanger airbag do deploy if the car is
hit even if the mirage has stopped. I have not talked to my dealer. It does not bother me and is now is a way of
letting me know when I have passed 40km without looking at the speedo.
In Australia we have 40km speed zones around schools and police use radar fine motorists doing more then 42km-now thats slow.

I would still call a dealer just to make sure it isnt a problem.

I have noticed this with my mirage and also with some other newer model cars such as a 2010 ford focus (to me it sounds more like a soft crunch) - I have assumed it is standard - something to do with safety/brakes etc
