    54.8mpg avg today!

So on my trip home my previous best was 52.4 and tonight I hit 54.8mpg avg on the scangauge!
Short shifting at 2,200-2,500 mainly and coasting as much as possible.

I hit most lights just right, that made the difference. I did have to stop a couple times but at the tail end of the light.

Oddly the cars mpg display said only 47.5 which is strange as it's usually only about 1mpg different.

    Wonder why?

I drove my Tundra for the first time today since buying the Mirage. It felt like I was in a semi when I jumped in haha.

My avg display on that said 14.3 ouch.

I just installed a ultragauge a few days ago and noticed the AVG mpg are usually off a little too. I would presume the cars gauge to be more accurate because its aware of the injector size and pulsewidth and the ultragauge only knows pulsewidth and engine size. (maybe the scangauge is setup different/better)

I've also tested the cars gauge vs real world and found it too be very close. Close enough i just believe it blindly now.

I'm glad your getting such great mileage! And the gauges sure are fun too fool with. Do you mind posting a picture of your gauge mounting setup?

Thank you, I posted a pic of it in my introduction thread.

I decided to mount in from the top of the SG right over where the key cubby is located behind the cup holders.

You don't want to block access to that key cubby, as it is not just a key cubby. If the battery in your FAST start fob ever goes dead, you put the fob in there so the car can communicate with it directly to get the engine started.

Yeah I know. It's "velcroed" on. I can easily move it. But my plan is to get a spare battery anyway so if it goes bad I can swap it out quickly.

How long do you guys get out of a battery in the fast key remote?

I haven't had to replace mine yet, and I've had mine a year. Also, I think it sat on the dealer's lot for quite some time.

I drove to a ShurFine over the summer which is one town over from me (I live in country suburbs) and got 68mpg with the AC on, I was really shooting for 70mpg and got stuck at a stop light and I was there like "No! No! No! I'm so close to 70!" It's not a long stretch, 15 miles maybe round trip 35-45mph. Think I ended at 68.

I'd love to drive this down the Natchez Trace at 50mph. I got a Crown Vic up to 33mpg at that. I imagine you could get darn close to 70mpg or more. If a car weighing substantially more with a V8 can get 33mpg at 50mph god only knows what this could achieve.

I drove a considerable distance on a low fuel light and got up to 54.5 before I decided to fill up and not risk it.

    Mines a CVT.

Replaced my fast key remote battery after two years of usage on my 2015 ES with CVT. Replaced batteries in both remotes for $6.75 each at dealer.
