Question 2015 ES - FAST key light on dash flashes for 30 seconds

Here's the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BCjZ7OIM_o This has been going on for about a week now. It hasn't caused any issues, car starts and runs absolutely fine. I thought it was maybe a low FAST key battery, so I switched to my spare (which has only been used maybe 3 times in the 2 years I've had the car), and it does the same thing. I suppose it is still possible that both batteries are low, I'll try and get a new battery. Any other ideas on what this could be?

Radio interference from other sources such as cell phone, Bluetooth device, etc. can cause problems with the immobilizer.

Replace both FAST key batteries and problem will go away; it did for me in December 2016.

Finally got around to replacing both batteries, and it resolved the issue, no more key blinks. I read in another thread that the keys are constantly listening (makes sense, it needs to sense when you push the unlock button on the door itself), so both batteries would wear pretty evenly, even if you only used one (like myself). So that's just over 2 years of battery life for $3.99 (2 pack of CR2032), not bad. I'll be back to this post around April of 2019 and we'll see how long the Energizers lasted compared to the Maxell or Memorex batteries, or whatever was in from the factory.

Speck is giving the same symptoms described here. After a year and a half it looks like I'm due to replace the batteries in my F.A.S.T. keys.

This is in line with what the Owner's Manual says - that the battery lasts one to two years.

Not too bad considering it sat on the lot for almost a year.

No low battery warnings yet after more than 2 years but it sounds like I'm due for fresh batteries.

I just had to replace a F.A.S.T. key battery for the first time a couple weeks ago after I got "the flashing".

I replaced both key fob batteries with a 2 pack from Dollartree. 50 cents a fob!

What! That's really cheap. I wonder about the battery life though. And I've had cheap batteries leak in other electronics.

I see Energizers on Amazon for like .76c each sold in a five pack
