Breakdown blues (starter cranks, but engine wont run/start) - SOLVED

Mrs Boston called me today. Car wouldn't start.
Came home. Tried to start car. Motor was spinning but it wouldn't crank over. Had spark. Smelled a fuel smell.
    Any ideas?

If you smelled fuel, sounds like it was too rich for some reason. This thread might help: Car wouldn't start

Cold conditions means the engine is going to be delivering a lot of fuel at startup. Your spark plugs may have had a slight amount of residual fuel on them from when you moved the car and the engine wasn't warmed up. Then you try to start it up again later and here comes a lot of fuel delivery from the injectors to a cold engine. Once the spark plugs are coated with unburned gasoline, the ignition voltage will short to ground instead of jumping across the electrode gap normally. Try holding the throttle to the floor while cranking the engine. If it still won't start, consider pulling a spark plug to see if it's wet with gasoline.

LOL...well...the important thing is that you got it started! So you did the "clear flood mode" trick by holding the pedal to the floor while cranking the engine?
