In the ES with blue tooth on the steering wheel, it's too easy to push the talk button and the systems blares out 'Link System!'. I've gotten very good at pressing the hang up button quickly to shut it up. And the constant beeping the system does when giving directions. The system beeps block critical instructions like 'turn right on boop-beep'.

My Metro will fail for "not ready" if I have recently used my ScanGauge. I have to do a drive cycle without it in the car to prepare for the test.

    Also: welcome to the forum!

Also also: going to do a garage entry?
    Garage empty: add car

So for ppl in emission testing places you have to unplug SG before doing an emission test? What like just a drive to the store type thing?

In OR.. It's a drive through garage... You pull in, stop, they plug into obd port, start and run for a short time. Unplug and leave. Pretty easy.

Well, in the Willamette Valley that's true. Here on the sleepy Oregon Coast no emissions testing and from the condition of a lot of rolling stock it seems like licensing might be optional--

Ohio just started a self-service arrangement where the individual does all the work - fill out a form on a pedestal-mounted computer, plug in a wireless OBDII scanner to check the MIL status. I used it on my last car, it was pretty cool & quick.

They still have the drive-through station where an operator will check your OBDII emissions status. I thought the self-serve was quicker.

We don't have testing in WI but when I lived in CA they put a sniffer in your tailpipe and ran your car on rollers. Is that outdated or just what ca does?
