Amazed on how much this car saves gas

Hello everyone, as some of you all know I just bought a new 2017 Mirage Sapphire Blue ES in a 5 speed manual about a week ago. Well this past weekend I decided to test her out and see how long I can drive till I hit empty. I am from San Diego, CA, i decided to go to Hanford, CA to visit my friend. Hanford is about 331miles from my house to my friends house according to google maps. The First one is leaving my house from SD, I left kinda late around 2pm. Got the kids (2boys) and packed the luggage and of we went. One thing i noticed is I forgot to get gas LOL. So about 45 miles away from my house I went to get gas, so you can minus 45 miles on 331 which is 286 miles. But again I left late so I caught traffic heading there, traffic was in LA. I used my A/C all the time. GPS started rerouting me to avoid traffic so on my first picture 296 it only added 10 miles, but remember this was traffic. On the GPS it said 4hrs and 45 minutes, THATS WITH NO TRAFFIC. It took my from 2pm to 9pm to arrive at my friends house. 7 hours driving, thats LA traffic for you. During that 7 hours we did stop to take a bathroom break only twice. I was averaging 41.7, the worst one was between 38-39mpg at the grapevine. This place I think its 4100 ft from sea level, so the uphill was slow and painful lol. I had to turn off the A/C just to make sure lol. Name: 20170414_204443.jpg

Second part was going home, so I decided to leave early sunday to make sure we do not hit traffic. I was amazed on how far it reached, the fuel gage starting blinking about 10miles away from my house. I know I could have got to my house without filling up but my boys wanted to watch a movie, so I stopped and got gas to make sure we reach the movie theater. I am so amazed on how much mpg and also how far i can drive with just one tank. My avg is 44.2 on the picture but I got it to 44.3 for almost 2 hours. Name: 17976653_1477139498972094_541709016_o.jpg

The car will get even better mileage as it breaks in. You are going to love your Mirage as much as I do

After almost 31K of trouble free driving my '15 Mirage w/CVT the lifetime average is almost 41 mpg. The Mirage isn't perfect by any means but I think it's top dog for bang for the buck in economy.

this is my first smallest car I have ever had, and yes it is the best bang for the buck. This car is cheaper on all the gas saving cars out there. Im so glad i got this.

I've had my '14 for about 3 weeks and love it. It is definitely the smallest car I have ever owned. As I'm 6'1 250 lbs, Im sure I look quite comical when entering and exiting but it is surprisingly roomy and comfortable (except for the missing arm rest )

I bought my car new at a dealer 300 miles away. When I drove it home, I wanted to see how high I could get the mileage. So I put the cruise control on 55 for most of the drive. Man...that was a painful, long drive. But I got 59 mpg for the 300-mile trip. I've never been able to repeat that.

yha mine done have cruise control. Plus if I go 55mph they might pull me over going way too slow hahha. Like you said it would be a painful drive lol.
