    Accuracy MID B Gauge

My 2015 ES with CVT has 6,700 miles on odometer with fuel economy of 46.8 MPG as shown in fuel economy log. Log includes every gallon placed in tank. Due to an error on my part early on in ownership of car, I accidentally reset the B MID miles to zero, but left fuel economy reading on the B MID as is. MID B reads 5,300 miles and 47.8MPG. Conclusion: The B MPG meter reads about 2% over actual fuel economy. I consider the MID gauge pretty accurate. Comments?

That sounds about right for both the A and B MIDs. I calculate my mpg every time I fill up using the A MID, and the results are usually off by 2%-5% either way.

I've been keeping track of my MID-B fuel economy accuracy using my fuel economy log entries here on the forum. I reset the MID-B at each fill-up and so far, I found that it is usually off by 2 mpgs on average.

I never reset my B reading...so it's always a "lifetime" average. I last checked it around 25,000 miles and it was almost dead-on my own mileage calculations. BUT...I have always had 185-55-15 tires which make the odometer reading 2.5% less than the distance I'm actually traveling. So yes...I agree with everyone that the B reading is 2% over.

I reset my B reading at every fill up also. It’s consistently higher than my actual mpg by about 1 mpg.
