Faulty Fuel gauge on my 2013 mirage

Hi everyone. My fuel gauge a few weeks ago was flashing low fuel but there was heaps of petrol in the tank when i filled it, it only took a few litres. A week has now gone past and my fuel gauge is now stuck on full bars even though i have been driving it all week. Has anyone ever had this problem before or know how i go about fixing it, thanks in advance. Jas

Hello jandv and welcome to the forum.

This is the first I've heard of such a problem. The fuel level sending unit wiring runs under the rear seat - lift it up from it's front and see for yourself. I wonder if some wiring has been jarred loose?

It might help to get a copy of the service manual. Search mmc-manuals.ru

    Thank you, I will check

Thank you Eggman, I will download and check. I am hoping it is a easy fix with a loose wire or such. Off to investigate. Thanks

Cool! Let us know what you find.

For safety's sake, there's a lot of wisdom in letting a professional have a look at fuel-related problems, especially fuel and electricity. The section of the service manual I posted describes removing the fuel pump module in order to manually operate the float. I'm not sure that's necessary because a reading can still be made without removal.

Please take some time to make a garage entry in your profile and tell us about you and your Mirage: Garage empty: add car

Hi, Just wanted to post a update. I had my car booked in to get it checked out BUT the fuel gauge seems to be working now. I am thinking the fuel sending unit is having issues. Next time "it" plays up I will book it in and update what the exact cause is. Still LOVE my Mirage !!!! Thank you....

So it sorted itself out auto-magically? Please keep us posted on this.

This is the first I've heard of this problem in a 6th gen. Mirage.
