New owner and multi state car trip question

Hi there, I just bought my first Mirage last Saturday. So far it is love at first fill up! I live outside Chicago and if any of you know the commutes can be brutal! I plan on taking my son and I from Chicago to the Outer Banks this summer. Any advice for a long trip in my 3 cylinder? I have a 2015 ES with about 20,000 miles. I have been driving on the highway and noticed some drafting feeling from the semi's I wasn't expecting to feel it that much and it did make me a bit nervous. Have anyone on the forum taken their Mirage on long trips? We plan to do 8 hours a day drive time. thanks for your help! Carol

Hi Carol and welcome to the forum!

    love at first fill up!
    Ha! Funny.

Yes, the Mirage and most lightweight cars suffer from buffeting when passing/being passed by large trucks.

But many members have done long road trips with their Mirages. Lots of replies in this thread:

I've driven from southern California to Texas, 12hrs straight my Mirage handled beautifully and it only took $40 of gas to get there.
