Question LED Brake light replacement help?

So I purchased LED Brake light bulbs for a 2015 Mirage and after installation using resisters, I noticed a burning smell from inside the car? Has anyone had any issues with this? I've seen a post somewhere in regards of installing LEDs but has someone replaced all leds without any issues?

Where did you mount the resistor? They usually get very hot and if it's touching plastic that may be the burning you smell. The tail lights are actually the only lights on my car that I haven't touched, lol.
