Why are 2015 mirage so slow?

I drive a brother's camaro and was very fast to test drive, and I test drive a little car it was so sluggish. I don't know anything about cars.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Hmmm. Serious or not serious...

The Camaro has a much bigger and more powerful engine because it was designed to go fast and feel sporty.

The Mirage has a smaller, less powerful engine because it was designed to be very affordable and get fantastic fuel economy.

That's it in a nut shell.

Umm, I'm assuming you are joking with us.

Hello Jason1999 and welcome to the forum. The Mirage is built to be an economy car, not a sports car. It has a small three cylinder engine and is very efficient with it's use of fuel. Look at the Fuel Economy Log - a link can be found at the top of every page here. You'll see members getting 60 miles per gallon. Remember, this is an ordinary car, not a hybrid. It is affordable to purchase, and affordable to operate.

I wondered the same thing. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt for saying "I don't know anything about cars."

Not very good at trolling if he gave up after one post!

Apparently he wasn't referring to an '82 Camaro with a 4 cylinder and automatic. Not to knock a Camaro as there are plenty of fast ones.
Probably the best answer to a question like his would be "because Mitsubishi wants to keep you out of trouble". How's that sound?

I'd agree except the Mirage is capable of triple digit speeds! Just takes a bit!

Doesn't the Mirage speedometer go all the way to 140mph? That's pretty fast already! haha.

But really, I remember back in the early days of forums where I was a newb. I remember asking if Twin Turbo was better than Single Turbo, with no context at all. Haha
